1889 Foundation is continuing its support of Hosanna Industries, Inc., and the 2024 Johnstown Resurrection Project. The Foundation granted $500,000 that will provide substantial housing repair, rehabilitation, improvement, and new construction, when necessary, for homeowners in need.
“We are honored to continue this partnership with Hosanna Industries on this transformative initiative, and grateful for the tireless efforts from Hosanna to provide hope, help, and healing to homeowners, volunteers, and all involved with this project.” said 1889 Foundation President Sue Mann.
This is the third year Hosanna Industries is continuing its work in Johnstown. Through 1889 Foundation’s past support of $1 million, which helped to leverage an additional $4.7 million from other funding sources, Hosanna has completed more than 100 home repair projects for homeowners in need.
With the foundation’s recent grant, Hosanna Industries has a goal of completing at least 25 additional home repairs in Johnstown this year.

Homeowners who are interested in receiving repairs through this initiative should contact the Johnstown Redevelopment Authority at 814-535-6564 to see if they may become a qualified applicant.
In 2023, 25 home repair projects were completed within the city limits. Work included window replacements, vinyl siding, interior and exterior painting, new flooring, bathroom remodels, and more.
Hosanna Industries had residual funding remaining at the end of September 2023, which initiated the “Hope for the Holidays” program. Families in need were provided with specific items like furnaces, hot water tanks, stoves, refrigerators, washers, and dryers.
Working directly with families also provides the opportunity to connect them to resources for other needs that may exist.
