1889 Foundation is proud to support and provide $25,000 in funding to Somerset County 9-1-1’s adoption of the PulsePoint app.
PulsePoint is free to download and alerts cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)-trained citizens of cardiac events within their vicinity so they can administer aid. It also helps to build a comprehensive Automated External Defibrillator (AED) registry and informs the community of emergencies in real time.
PulsePoint app subscribers who are CPR-trained and have indicated they are within the app can be notified if someone in close proximity to them is experiencing a sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) and may require CPR. If the SCA is occurring in a public place, the location will show on the PulsePoint app simultaneously with the dispatch of first responders. The app will also direct individuals to the exact location of the nearest AED.
Even if someone isn’t a CPR-certified, the app can be extremely helpful by alerting individuals of incidents happening in their communities.
To download the PulsePoint Respond App, visit the app store on your phone and search “PulsePoint Respond.”
