1889 Foundation granted $53,000 to Circle of Support Child Advocacy Center (CAC) for its continued outreach and abuse prevention efforts.

“1889 Foundation recognizes the important services that the Circle of Support Child Advocacy Center provides to the vulnerable and abused children in Cambria County,” said 1889 Foundation President Sue Mann. “We also recognize the need for outreach to families to teach parents how to talk to their children about body safety, identifying safe people to tell if something happens, and understanding grooming behaviors, as well as positive parenting.”

CAC’s mission is to reduce the trauma of child abuse investigations by fostering professional collaboration among a team of professionals dedicated to supporting child abuse, holding offenders accountable, and assuring the best outcomes for child-abuse victims and their families.

With the funding, CAC will continue its work to create meaningful, long-term change in the communities they serve and improve overall health and wellness of the community members.

The primary focus of CAC is to assure that victims of abuse receive the services and support necessary to overcome the abuse they have endured, which, ultimately, leads to better outcomes for children, families, and the community.
