The 1889 Jefferson Center for Population Health has identified diabetes prevention and control as a top priority in improving the overall health of our region. Diabetes is a leading cause of premature death in rural areas like ours, but the good news is that Type 2 diabetes can be prevented or delayed with healthy lifestyle changes.
Visit the CPH’s Population Health Blog to learn more about the symptoms and risk factors for diabetes, as well as local resources available to people with diabetes — and check back often to the CPH site for opportunities to participate in events and programs on this important initiative.
